Individuellt arbetar grupperna i olika lokala projekt.

”Kontoret for Jordforbindelse” planerar för närvarande ”Kontoret for Jordforbindelse Seminars och Workshop” (in 2006) with the aim to applicate theoretical ”input” in an EXPERIEMENTARIUM.

In English:
”Kontoret for Jordforbindelse/The Office of Sustainable Society” is a project that illuminates, experimentally explores, and concretely activates sustainable urban development.”The Office of Sustainable Societies” is a mobile office which localizes in different areas and spaces in the Öresund region, inititated by two artist groups in the Öresund- region, PUBLIC GLOBALITY GARDENS (S) and OUTER NØRREBRO KULTUR BUREAU (DK) as a a strategy to work for sustainability in the region. Individually the groups are working with different local projects. PUBLIC GLOBALITY GARDENS which established ”The Allotment at S:t Knuts square” in Malmö to start a constructive debate about the negative effects of the increasing exploition of green areas in this city. YNKB, which participated in the initiative group´s proposal to create an acitivity park on DSB property at Nørrebro station and another proposal for an arts and culture centre at the Freighthalls in the Nørrebro quarter of Copenhagen. Since many artists work with similar aspects of planning and its relation to sustainability the project has invited artists and organization working in the artist context to collaborate. The project is today based on the artists/artist groups ”Public Globality Gardens (S) and YNKB (DK) in collaboration with Konstfrämjandet i Skåne (S), Nis Rømer (DK), Khaled Ramadan (DK) and Cecilia Wendt (S).

Public Globality Gardens is an art group working in the field of social and political contexts with the aim to support and concrete do societal change with art-actions in the streets. The activities are in collaboration with local organisations in Malmö, Sweden and activists and artists internationally. With focus on societies planning processes, the purpose is to force things to change by mirroring the westerns societies democratic, environmental and socio-cultural tillstånd. Actions made by the group is ”The Allotmentgarden at S:t Knuts square”, an installation of an allotment at a central square in Malmö and ”G.R.O.W.”, collecting old indoor furnitures to furnish a central square in Lund. Public Globality Gardens is organized by Christel Lundberg, creative producer and artists in collaboration with artists, landscape-architects, architects, landscape engineers, organisations and NGOs.

YNKB is an art group that share a wish to relocalize artistic activity to the local environment. In other words, we wish to absorb our inspiration from the inter-human relationships in this locality for activities here that involve the local environment. We do not wish to establish a painting exhibition in outer Nørrebro for local artists, but rather to develop knowledge about outer Nørrebro and thereby establish connections in the environment, as well as to act loyally in relation to everyone we meet and only use material (interviews, videofilm, photos etc.) with the consent of those involved. YNKB is a non-commercial group independet of economical and political interests and based on free will. The group’s practice will be based on and be in interaction with that which we meet during our journey through our own neighbourhood.

The aim of the cooperation is to raise local urban planning issues to a relevant level in both Denmark and Sweden. Through documentation and installations, ”The Office of Sustainable Societies” wishes to inspire local actions and develop a plan of action that can be used to renew and change urban planning on the global level. ”The Office of Sustainable Societies” is an active base where examples of its work, and that of others, are made accessible through a library, archives, videos, slides, tapes, a virtual web-site etc. The public is welcome to study the archive when the office is exhibiting in different ways. The aim is also to build an virtual archive on the project´s web-site. ”The Office of Sustainable Society” is for the moment organizing ”The Office of Sustainable Societies Seminars and Workshop” (in 2006) with the aim to applicate theoretical ”input” in an EXPERIEMENTARIUM. ”The Office of Sustainable Societies” aims to create an archive and a forum for artists working in this context and to make it easier for artist to communicate ideas for the development of the region.

Artists in sustainable regional development planning and its relation to art is a question about artists interest in democracy. And the strengthening of democracy is one of the main aspects which will provide citizens with a sustainable society. Urban planning is often a discussion between politicians and planners sometimes in collaboration with NGOs and citizens. But there is an alarming trend with increased influence of financial interests which rule the urban and regional situation. Artists working in the field raise questions against this development with the claim that society instead of decreasing its influence in urban planning must increase it instead, in order to strengthen democracy and not give away the position of vision-making to market-economies short-termed trends and profit. The statement of this project is to strengthen the role of the artist in urban planning as agents with free inquiry and being heard by influencing decision- making matters as a condition. Free inquiry is fundamental for the development of a sustainable society and its democratic foundations. Art activities are essential aspects to develop and strengthen democracy and to find a balance in urban development in all societies. In this project there will be given examples of art activities within the field of city planning.
